Screenbay is an iPad app that lets you use your own Mac through the Screen Sharing service built into macOS. It is published by bayeslearner LLC, a Michigan limited liability company (“we”, “us”). Our postal address and email are on the contact page.
Summary
Section titled “Summary”- Screenbay sends nothing to us. We run no servers for the app, and it has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- The app connects only to the Macs you add to it.
- What the app stores (your list of Macs, the passwords you save, and one reminder timer) stays on your iPad.
What Screenbay Stores On Your iPad
Section titled “What Screenbay Stores On Your iPad”| Data | Where it is kept | Who can read it |
|---|---|---|
| Passwords for your Macs | The iPad Keychain, available only while the iPad is unlocked and only on this device. They are not synchronized through iCloud Keychain and do not move to another device through a backup. | The app, on this iPad |
| Your list of Macs: the name you give each Mac, its network address, the account name, and your preferences | The app’s own storage on the iPad. Like other app data, it may be included in your iPad’s backup, according to your Apple settings. We cannot read that backup. | The app, on this iPad |
| Reminder timer: one number, the seconds of session time since the last purchase reminder | The app’s storage on the iPad. It is never sent anywhere. | The app, on this iPad |
| Session data: the Mac’s screen image, audio, your keyboard and pointer input, and the session’s encryption keys | The app’s memory only, released when the session ends | The app, while it is running |
| Diagnostic logs: connection steps, errors and the Mac’s network address | On the iPad. They are not uploaded automatically. | You, if you choose to share them |
Screenbay does not read your contacts, photos, location or files, and does not use the camera or microphone.
What Screenbay Sends, And To Whom
Section titled “What Screenbay Sends, And To Whom”Screenbay connects directly to the Mac address you choose, over your local network or a private network: TCP port 5900 to the Mac’s Screen Sharing service, and UDP ports 5900 and 5901 for video and audio. Over these connections it sends what macOS Screen Sharing needs to sign you in, your keyboard and pointer input, and the requests that run the session. The session is encrypted. Screenbay has no relay service and no Screenbay account.
If you reach your Mac over a private network such as Tailscale, that traffic travels over the network you set up, under that provider’s terms. Screenbay does not talk to Tailscale or any other provider itself.
Local network permission. iPadOS asks whether Screenbay may find and connect to devices on your local network. Screenbay uses it only to find Macs with Screen Sharing and reach the Macs you add.
Purchases And Information Apple Handles
Section titled “Purchases And Information Apple Handles”Apple distributes Screenbay through the App Store and TestFlight and processes purchases and offer-code redemptions. Apple’s privacy policy covers that information. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Purchases. Screenbay checks Apple’s verified record of your purchase to stop showing the reminder. We receive no name, email or payment information from it.
- Crash reports and usage statistics. If you turn on Share with App Developers in iPadOS settings, Apple may share crash reports and aggregated usage statistics with us. You control this in Settings, not in Screenbay.
- TestFlight. If you test a beta, TestFlight shares with us the email address or name you were invited with, the feedback and screenshots you choose to send, and crash reports, as described in Apple’s TestFlight terms.
We use this information only to fix problems in Screenbay and do not combine it with other data.
Support Requests
Section titled “Support Requests”If you email us, we receive what you choose to send, such as your email address, a description of the problem, logs and screenshots. We use it only to answer your request and keep it only as long as we need to for that request and its follow-ups. Before sending logs or screenshots, check them for anything you do not want to share: a screenshot of a session shows whatever was on the Mac’s screen.

Section titled “This Website”bayeslearner.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.
Signups for Screenbay launch messages are not open. Before they open, this policy will name the signup service, what it collects, and how long it keeps it, and every message will include an unsubscribe link.
Keeping Or Deleting Your Data
Section titled “Keeping Or Deleting Your Data”- Delete a Mac from the list, and Screenbay deletes its entry and the password saved for it.
- Delete the app, and iPadOS removes the app’s data. To be sure saved passwords are removed too, delete each Mac in the app first.
- Session data is released when the session ends.
- To have us delete your support correspondence, ask at the address on the contact page.
We hold no account or profile about you, so there is nothing else for us to export or delete.
